Our Gratitude

WE MADE IT!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW! Finally the pressure is over! And what most important is, we have produced our very first interactive application, thing that we can be proud of with. So many things happened in the making of this Interactive Application, the pressure, the miss understandings, the passion, the anger, the patience, and also the sweet friendship among us. We know that our work is far from perfect or even acceptable, but we've learned things. And let us take the boon in wisdom, take the good things and throw away the bad things.

We "Muda Mudi Keraton", would like to say thank you very much to Mr. Ken Neo for his dedication to teach us new things in the class, and secularized us with high level of discipline. And also tons of tons of tons thanks to Dr. Koo as our lovely tutor in the class, no other tutors as patient as you. You're the best! And also we would like to apologize for every bad things that lead you into dejection. Thank you Dr. Koo.....

And last but not least, for all group's members,, Satria, Sheila and Ferari, thanks for keep on firedays and nights to finish the work. You're the best!

Satria's Individual GUI

Individual GUI

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

MOH. SATRIA WAHAB

I did the main menu together with sheila and also the content of Jogyakarta. Basically, i just use three logos of each provinces as the button that will lead the audience to the content of the provinces. The balloon that shows the name of the province will appear when you cross your mouse over the logos. Here are the GUI of the main menu :

For the application of Jogyakarta, I provide the information about the city, and 2 interactive pages which are Gallery Photo and Gamelan self-experience. And here are the final GUI of my town's application ; Jogyakarta :

SHEILA SORAYA

As the only girl in this group, I feel that I have a responsibility to fire up the spirit of these two guys, and give the "girl" touch on the Interactive application. Together with Satria, I did the main menu and for the content of West Java, i did it myself. So here are the GUIs of my West Java & Main Menu application :

Overall, I also just followed what my group's has decided before. I provide brief informations about West Java, Interactive Gallery of West Java's place of interest, and interactive application of Angklung (traditional music instrument from west Java).

Ferari's Individual GUI

Individual GUI

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

FERARI TIOARBI

Due to my area of responsibility, I did the Intro and the content of Central Java. For the intro, i use three important elements that representing Java Island's well, which are Wayang Kulit (Shadow puppet), Batik (Javanese traditional cloth), and the appearing of Java Island itself. Here are the final GUI of the intro :

For the main content of the application, I didn't change much things in term of the graphic interface. I just followed what my group's has decided for the appearance of the application. We put a character as a tour guide which dressed up in Javanese traditional costume, we use a hanging box as a target place of the content, and classic Goldy style for buttons. I tried to build an attractive interactivity on my content, for example the appearing of Javanese Language balloon when you cross your mouse over the tour guide, animated buttons, interactive gallery of Borobudur temple, and a page that provides Video of Wayang Kulit. Here are the GUIs :

The GUI

Graphic User Interface

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. The Intro

We decided to put an intro at the beginning of the application. The intro will be something like a simple animation of Wayang (traditional shadow play from Jawa), with Javanese Gamelan Song as the backsound of the animation. Right after the animation finish, the "enter" button will appear to lead the audience entering the application.

2. "Menu" Layout

For the main menu, our interactive will come up with a visualization of Java island itself with three (3) main provinces with their own buttons which can be chose by the audience. And also, there will be a character as tour guide, complete dressed with Javanese traditional costume in the bottom left of the screen.

2. "Sub-Menu" Layout

For the interface of sub-menu (which is the interactive page of each provinces), more or less will be something like this :

2. Character of the tour guide

To achieve the Javanese environment in the application, we put a character which is role as an ornament in the application. He dressed up in a Javanese traditional costume, together with "batik cloth" and "blankon" hat..

The Proposal

Place of Our Hometown : Java Island

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Java Island

Java Island is one of Indonesia’s large archipelagos, situated between Sumatra and Bali Island with total area of 132,000 sq km, and is also categorized as the most populated Island in Indonesia. There almost 125.5 million people live in Java Island. The Island is divided into six provinces, which are DKI (Daerah Khusus Ibu Kota) Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI (Daerah Istimewa) Jogjakarta, and East Java. The population is predominantly Muslim, and includes people of Javanese, Sundanese, and Madurese origin. Java Island is filled with so many traditional arts and cultures, with its richness of the culture; Java Island has become one of the most favorite tourism-destination in Indonesia.

The Background

Basically, why we chose Java Island as our content is because we are coming from Java Island. Sheila and Rio came from DKI Jakarta, and Ferari came from West Java. Java has so many cultures and interesting places to visit for; such as many ancient residuals temples, arts, places, beautiful beaches, traditional houses, Javanese Royal complexes and so on. Those are the reason why we decided to choose Java Island as our interactive application’s content.

The Ideation

We discussed and we conclude that we want to explore tourism aspect in our hometown. We are going to make an interactive application that deceptively leads the audience (user) to experience the journey in Java Island. There will be 3 (three) choices of cities that can be chose by the user, and in each city there will be brief information about it, and a multimedia interactive(s) provided. Basically the application will role as tour guide that provides routes information from the capital Jakarta to the destination, and some brief information and interactive media (it could be video, picture gallery, or playing traditional music) about the chosen city, and if we have much time left, we would like to put a trivia quiz at the end of the exploration of the application.

Target Audience

We targeted this application for foreigners (outside Indonesia) in a range of age between 13 to 70. This Application has a certain function as a guide for foreigners to get to know how, where, and what Java Island looks like especially "the three" chosen provinces, which are West Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta.

Member Area of Responsibility
